How to Care for Your Handmade Fabric Items
Gentle Washing is Key Handmade fabric items are crafted with love, and they deserve to be cared for with love. For most of our quilted bags and pouches, spot cleaning is the best first step. If a deeper clean is needed, a gentle hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent is highly recommended. Drying Your Treasures Never wring or twist your handmade items, as this can distort the fabric and break the delicate threads. Instead, gently press the water out by rolling the item in a clean, dry towel. Lay it flat to dry out of direct sunlight to prevent the beautiful fabric colors from fading. Ironing and Storage If your piece needs a little smoothing, use a warm iron on the cotton setting. Be sure to avoid ironing directly over any special trims or zippers. When not in use, store your handmade quilts and bags in a dry, cool place, preferably wrapped in breathable cotton or acid-free tissue paper. Ready to find your perfect handmade piece?
